Rimonabant Succeeds in Treatment-Naive Diabetes: The most common side effects included dizziness, nausea, upper respiratory infection, and anxiety.

In treatment-naive patients with type 2 diabetes, 6 months of the CB1 receptor blocker rimonabant produced significantly greater improvements than did placebo in HbA1c levels, body weight, and cardiometabolic measures, according to trial results presented in Cape Town, South Africa, by Dr. Julio Rosenstock.
