SAN ANTONIO — A dramatic and unprecedented decline in the incidence of breast cancer in the United States in 2003 appears to have been the result of massive numbers of women discontinuing hormone therapy just the year before, Dr. Peter M. Ravdin reported at a breast cancer symposium sponsored by the Cancer Therapy and Research Center.
